2 Def DJ's vs. Mr. Freeze (3) - Spirit EP

2 Def DJs & Mr Freeze, True Vision, Boy ahead of its time or what?
There are 4 mixes of the spirit track, 3 of them have some minimal elements of dancehall grunge and gabber (true, even back in 1992), but there is 1 mix which to me is the killer. Track 1 on side B , the dance 2 mix, pure atmosphere , a monster of dark, serious but heavenly and for the most eerie.
The arrangement and content are unique for its time of release. From the first eerie vocal stab followed by the dark rolling drum with a sweeping bass and a heavy 4/4 percussion , it builds and builds with the sweep of the bass getting deeper and dirtier as it becomes layered to the point of being melodic and hypnotizing , Trance ! it is !
The track still keeps going until a huge eerie breakdown takes over and, there it is an amazing sequence of atmospherics rolls, its eerie, no its evil for sure! Back with the vocal stab as the drums come crashing back over you! Hooked I was and Hooked I am! Amazing slab of vinyl! Full marks to the 2 def guys and the Freeze
