2-Live Crew California style before the days of Luke Skyywalker. If you caught them late then this record would suprise you in the content delivery of the lyrics. In fact, Revelation has a positive street story with something to say. The beats are banging with the west-coast approach to 808 programming and production for electro.

Along with T La Rock & Jazzy Jay's "It's yours" and Run-DMC's "Together Forever", these are the very 1st Proto-Bass records, setting up the genre for formation in 1985 with Amos Larkin III & M.C. A.D.E.'s "Bass Rock Express". Mr. Mixx was one of the 1st to recreate the blueprint that Rick Rubin developed. The record promoter turned label owner Luke Skyywalker thought enough of the group to relocate them to Miami in 1986, and become the label's flagship, and representatives for the whole genre on a nationwide level for years to come.
