3 Phase – Straight Road

Let me say, the only reason this one doesn't rate a five to me is simply because the version of the track (Road 6) that appeared on "Schlangenfarm" was concise and seemed to fall together a little better than these versions, which seemed to me a bit scattered and confused. Being a producer of techno myself using much the same machines, I know how easily this can happen. I won't say Sven and company didn't know what was going on, they just had so much to work with they could have done Road 1 - 20 and beyond, and it's hard to know just when to stop! But Road 6 on Schlangenfarm just summed up the essence of this track. However, observant listeners will note variations of the 303 that didn't turn up in Road 6, so this becomes something of a useful tool for adding some tone color. Not to mention the fact that Road 6 is 10 minutes or so and Road 5 is like 30 minutes. Any way you slice it, I'm glad I found it and I do like it! Great release!
