Reviews & Discussion

Rated 4/5
Review by SJH Aug 01, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
For those new to 311's music, this is a decent compilation to get - it shows off the newer, more mainstream sound the group has developed over the last decade. It's a shame, though, that only two tracks ("Do You Right" and "Homebrew") were taken from 311's first two albums, Music and Grassroots - it was in those two albums that the group demonstrated its true creativity and musicianship. Beginning with their self-titled album, the group continued to water down their sound, and the funk influence of their earlier releases is almost nonexistent now. While this collection is still full of good songs, it's not an example of the best 311 has to offer.
