I don't know where my fellow reviewer retrieved his track durations from, but spinning this precious piece of wax at 45rpm Hidden clocks in at a few cseconds short of nine minutes while Mindsafari counts eleven. However, when played like that, both of these tracks quickly prove themselves to be the most illustrious, menacing, deviant, irate, out of this galaxy, raw, unpolished, inaccessibile, exorbitant, acid drenched and loaded, extremely burned up hardcore music I have yet heard.
This is acid with the ferocity and audacity of the hardest techno one could imagine back then. Literary, there are layers upon layers of mischievous 303s thrown over a relentless kick, no breaks, no pauses, no nothing but never ending assault of pure acid music. Both sides of this stuff in one swallow will drive your brain up and down the wall.
Without a doubt this is one of the five hardest, most punishing releases I have ever listened to. Very hard, but above all - excellent!
DJ ESPs best release on Labworks.
"Hidden" is a 13-15 minute HardTrance BASS Monster that will stretch any PA to it's rated extreme with suble sequencing that harks back to a time when Acid seemed to have no limits.
"Mindsafari" is a 17 minutes+ journey through some of the scariest Acidscapes ever committed to vinyl.
A testament to Woody Mc Bride's genius.
The best of the best.
