Though this is a soundtrack, The Virgin Suicides stands pretty well on its own. Granted, seeing the movie helps provide some context to the samples that occur in a few of the tracks, but the musicianship is solid. "Playground Love" is a melancholy love song, while "Empty House" sounds like a lost Broadcast track. And that's a high compliment, believe me.
A haunting soundtrack/score from the movie The Virgin Suicides. If you have seen this movie it will bring back the ominous feeling found through out the movie, though if you have not seen the movie this CD will still haunt you with it's beautiful sounds as only Air can make. Solid through & through.
