"Romanticismo oltranzista" is an album that mixes many different but all interrelated genres. At first you may notice the evident Lounge cadence, slow and atemporal, patiently dedicated to a dead tempo that is both solitary and abandoned. This decadent rhythm is a constant thing appreciated in through the whole album and remits the listener into an atmosphere plagued with nihilism and decrepitude, further additions such as a cabaret like background made accordion and drums and this morbid notes of low-fi synths with monotonous lines that resemble the music from old TV series about phantasmagoria also emancipate some halo of gothic mystery and obscurity that fits very well with the simplicity of the music structure. And its quite obvious that the lyrics are adjacent to the feelings that come from the music. With titles like "Tempo morto" and its live after death voice with deadly and repetitive rhythm and the morbid lyrics from "Le Tue Labbra Grigio-Blu" that somehow reminds of the twisted music from The Tiger Lillies. The album has not a cynic character but rather a misanthropic one, all oblivious, decadent and criminal and in the ends suits very well with the simplicity from the tunes.
I would say this album attempts to be more "musical" than the previous from Ait!, its more structured but lacks the more experimental side from the older ones. In the end it is decent in its own indencency and if youre up for a time of morbidity youll really enjoy it.
