From the liner notes:

"Note To Audiophiles:
Werner Janssen originally recorded this Everest album in the 40's and it was released in the form of 78 records under the Artist Record label. Everest discovered these collector gems buried in a Hollywood recording studio vault. The problem then was how to transform these performances, which were originally recorded on discs, to a recording which would be up to present day standards.
First each disc had to be placed under a microscope and the proper stylus selected. Then they were painstakingly transcribed onto tape. This process took many hours. Some 500 splices were required to remove all the "pops" and distortions. The result of these labors and meticulous editing are now available to you on microgroove long playing disc. An historic performance, thought to be lost irretrievably, has by the miracle of electronics, been resurrected for your enjoyment."
