Reviews & Discussion

Review by Alain_Patrick Aug 05, 2007 (edited over 4 years ago)
Marc Trauner was a genious of the Electronica since the end eighties. His multi-talent brought some of the Standards of Techno-Rave, Gabba and even Breakbeats, from his monikers Ace The Space to Mescalinum United, The Mover, among many others. As Ace The Space, he rocked the blocks with the massive release of "9 Is A Classic" on Dance Ecstasy 2001.
The homonym tune on the single had an explosive combination between the funny vocals of Mr. Shabazz and the powerful line of synthesizers with devastating timbres; it emerged as an exemplary Gabba prototype and was quickly transformed into a huge Rave anthem, a massive storm on any rave repertories of that period.
On the other side, "Your Special Attraction" was a mega-powerful full-lenght Breakbeat line melted in a deep bass, hypnotic synth melodies and funny samples that points us to the ecstasy-rave culture. The quotes "E-E-E-Xtacy!" and "I got it!" (this last one being taken from Eddie Bo's 1969 classic "Hook & Sling"), suggests the unconditional presence of those illegal substances on the raves.
