Hazy Way (Evil Nine Remix)
Once again Evil 9 step upto the breakbeat plate and deliver a truely awesome remix. As anyone whose heard their excellent remix of Alex Dolby's The Way will confirm, their remix credentials are outstanding. This remix is very much like their remix for Alex Dolby inasmuch that this track too is given the unique Evil 9 cinematic spin (if 'The Way is the bank heist, then this Hazy Way remix must surely be the getaway) only this time the percussion gives way and plays second fiddle to a monsterous rolling anologue bassline of epic proportions the like of which were last heard being belted out at stadium rock concerts in the 1970's usually by Paul Simonon of the Clash. In fact, the whole track has an in-your-face Punk attitude about it albeit with an electronic pulse.

As with The Way, Evil 9 stick to a proven formula and let everything breakdown at the mid-section though this time a voice that sounds like Stephen Hawkin on Crack instructs us to 'Try to be true, even if it's only in (our) Hazy way' and then WHOOMPH! everything comes crashing back in. Unfortunaltey, I've never heard this track played out but I would imagine that there would be plenty of casualties. UK breakbeat music of the highest order that somehow manages to give an acknowledged nod back to the past but does so looking firmly ahead to the future.
