Mixed receptions of the debut release on Soma from Alex the Glaswegian...It is minimal yet emotive, the track will not test the usual tech dancefloor but for DJ mix comps or soundtracks it is awesome, a solid release that impresses and show just what a talent Alex is...

I haven't been a great fan of Mr. Smoke's minimal-tech-alternative productions but this one is an exception. While 'Don't See The Point' is a mellow, vocal-based tech house production which doesn't really offer anything that special, but it's 'Telemetry' that really sets this release apart from his other releases. I really love the main riff – even tough there's a slight resemblance to his big hit 'Chicca Wappa' – which really keeps the song alive with its constant ups and downs while the whole production has been completed with style. The pointless mix of 'Don't See The Point' completes the package with its less-is-more attitude – ending up being more entertaining that the original version. Very nice and useful release.

'Don't See The Point' can easily be described as a lush and beautiful song. Underwater chords and a hypnotic, brooding voice come together in a perfect blend to entrance the listener. This release rides a fine line between minimal tech-house, and downtempo all the while showing no regard for it. Any fan of Matthew Dear's tune 'Dog Days' might find this to be the perfect downtempo alternative.
