I think it's great to see that not every DJ feels the need to only mix the latest releases and Alex Smoke shows us here that the classics should be all but forgotten.

HOWEVER, I find that the mix completely lacks structure and flow, therewith wasting the chilled atmosphere that dubby tracks such as the 'See Mi Version' might create, or the more groovy potential contained in tracks such as '25 Bitches' and 'Pingu'.

This dj set is a very clever way to remind us that it's not yet the appropriate time to throw all our older records out at the window. Really cool and clever dubby, swinging selection here, full of older pearls mixed up with recent works. Totally reflecting of what's happening in the scene right now. A great journey indeed.
