The original is obviously an all time classic tune. But the K-Boy mix brings it right up to date for 2003. Very good mix and probably the only one that comes close to bettering the original.

The Northstarz mix is complete shit on the other hand and I assume it was only put on to shift a few copies of this 12" to the trance crowd. But in my opinion it is nothing short of blasphemy! How dare anyone remake this classic HOUSE anthem into such a cheesy piece of crap trance. The B-side will never be listened to again but I will continue to cane the A-side for many a year to come I imagine.

When HX magazine asked the top DJ's at the time to list their top ten dance club songs of the century (at the milennenium in 2000) This was on all but two lists, and often at the top of eACh DJ's list no matter their style. It is the ruling dance club hit still. With its classic piano house sound, I can remeber when this song took the Roxy in NYC by storm - no one had heard any beat like it.!

House music that is pure perfection from start to finish (& yes you are right - should not have been meddled with). There were already perfectly good remixes of this track that came out at the time. But the mid 90s saw the rise of the superclub, the money grabbing of DJs, promoters, Remixers, Producers & Labels and thus which led to a severe lack of creative song writing which ultimately meant the end of a great era in terms of inspiring soulful House & Garage music.

For me this is Frankie Knuckles & David Morales' finest work as remixers. Their remix will go down in the anals of House music history as one of the greatest pieces of modern dance music ever. That piano intro, the awesome production and beats that still stand up today, the astoundingly good voice of Ms Limerick (by far her finest moment - how could she ever top this!) and then the stunning lyrical content that combined with all the elements mentioned, take your breath away literally. I have heard this track countless times on dancefloors & not just because it's an obvious classic but it has real meaning, depth & emotion and it never fails to move a crowd which is why DJs still turn to this true classic piece of House music soul. Mixamg were right in my opinion!

The b-side is pathetic! Really, you would be best off simply scratching this side to pieces with your house keys, or maybe even a piece of sandpaper if you have any!!

K-Boy remix is superb (5/5) and really does it for me and my mates. Really down-right funky- I would actually say it is better than the original version from back in the day. If you see this, but it now!!

This was voted the Greatest Dance Record of All Time in Mixmag a few years ago. Pity they had to churn out stupid cheesy remixes not long afterwards.

The highest praise you can give a track is the level of response from the dance floor as that now famous piano hook blends over the track thats fading out. It doesn't get any better. To coin an old phrase..... they don't write them like this anymore.....!!!! Pure Quality !!

This is one track that I played to death in 1991. Different mixes than the remixes presented here. Of course, there's the Def Mix with Frankie Knuckles, an excellent remix by Paul Oakenfield, but the killer mix is the Spring Mix (remixer unknown at this time) that strips down the vocals, adding only a few important ones to make the case that this indeed is the place where love lives.

Even though this record was a big commercial hit, something that usually puts me off thanks to the frequency of commercial radio playlists, it remains in my eyes one of the most underground sounding vocal house tracks ever. A brilliant vocal performance helped along by one of the most memorable piano hooks in the business. Quality!

A top-notch vocal anthem. Morales & Knuckles turning out one of their finest remixes to date.
This has been championed for years by DJ's across the globe...and I'm sure Mr Knuckles plays this as a closing track to many of his sets, along with Tears.
