I've never been a fan of Analog Pussy, but I got this one for free. Since I don't like them I've never bough any of their releases. So if you think Analog Pussy are generally pretty good, you probably won't agree with this review.
"Ball Banger" has a growly sound to it fused with some old goa elements. A little too low on the action, this could bore people quite easily I imagine. Also, there is really not a single great idea put into this track. It's all quite ok, but when it ends it leaves you with a feeling that you just wasted 7 or so minutes of your life (and if you're not as "lucky" as me, a few bucks got wasted too).
Over on the B-side we have something that sounds like it's trying to be that "Dreams" track by Eurythmics in the intro. Some heavy drumming over a rolling monotonous bassline and a plucky little melody kick things off. And then... well not much happens until "Dreams" comes back in with a pretty ugly sound. Having been around since the very dawn of goa trance, you'd think these two could come up with a better sound. The rest of the track is actually quite good, but its spoiled by the Eurythmics-thing.
Conclusion: So-so release. The B-side isn't too repulsive, but "Ball Banger" is highly forgettable. I wouldn't have bought it.
