RE-RELEASE, the remix accompaniment to RELEASE, is just as delightful as its predecessor, with the added value of having some top-notch talent on-board. Blu Mar Ten, for example, turn out “Breaking Down” with some funky electro beats, while King Britt lets out the spaciness of “Expand Your Mind,” resolving the initial skittering beats into a 4/4 thumper. “Cascades of Colour” goes downtempo, thanks to Sugar Love. But Brann isn’t one to leave the funk to others: “Horizons” holds its own. Blaze keep the house side of “Falling For You” strong, but with a beautifully compelling bassline. G-Pal lends a tech-house sensibility, and Timewriter goes ambient. Nice!
