Andrew W.K. - I Get Wet

Regardless of how reviled Andrew W. K. is by so many people (especially metal heads) this release has to be one the most energetic things ever. Step aside all ye purists and behold - an album that unashamedly boasts every track at under four minutes; a fast sound that is indescribeably catchy - it hooks you in one go; and brilliantly simple but massive sounding choruses.
In a way it's quite cheesy. It doesn't for one second attempt to be even half serious and the lyrics are an incessant theme of pure hedonism ("Party Till you Puke"... "It's Time To Party"... "Got To Do It" - and possibly some thinly veiled Fascist ideology in "Ready To Die"...).
As with some of the greatest speeches, brilliance doesn't always have to equal complexity. This is a very uncomplex and in your face release which, for what it happens to be, is absolutely brilliant in its incredible simplicity.
