Never mind the bollocks! This is elektro!
Even though it might not be his very best tracks, this release is cool, beautiful and enjoyable ( picture disc and music alike).
"Synthetic" sounds alot like his own "Dreampeople" (on the "psi49net" label - PS1023), just not as thrusty, but hey -
people love to dream, and this track does the job..
- Waltz away (B)Rother !!

I would like to shed light on the previous comment by robotronic. I don't think that you should be all that worried over Mr. Rother falling into any dry spells. He is an amazing creator of beautifully complex Electro. I feel that Datapunk allows him to simply branch out his roots into a different, but just as important direction. Most all the releases on Datapunk are very similar, with vocals that expose "commercial programming" found in mainstream music. True, it's not as complex and more straight-forward. My copy of "Synthetic/Young" gets quite a bit of play...the vocals speak of "...we used to dance together, when we were young..." He's making contrast between the way it used to be as opposed to the way it is now.

I was really disappointed to hear these sounds. I expected something melodic, powerful, a state of art, what Rother has always been... But here he stays at the side of straight rhythms, instead of multiform dynamic electro beats. Well, he's an artist; he is seeking for new forms now. But this release seems to be a kind of a crisis. The dry spells in the meaning of the end of ideas, new tricks, discoveries...and everything progressive. Ok, my words are just a first impression, but this feeling is disillusionment... I still remain a true fan. Anyway, his one is for the collection.
