Antigen Shift's new album, The Way of the North, is quite a departure from what his fans are used to. Gone are the brutal, noisey landscapes and present are more clean and to the point beat structure. Movie samples have also been removed, although a careful listener will notice a couple of quiet vocals sneaked in on a couple tracks.

The theme to the CD seems to be the artic. Whether or not this would be a good soundtrack to such a place is beyond me. Beneath all the differences though, there is some throwbacks to the old AS (Tundra has a piano in it, which is a trademark in AS's old sound).

Antigen Shift fans may or may not like this release. If you can appreciate change, then you should check this one out... be don't expect the scary beats from the past.
