Reviews & Discussion

D-Scape is personally my 'desert island track'. It has everything you could want in an experience of "visionary" audio. Haunting beauty. Weaving melody and endless layers & depth. Thunderous bass (that always catches you off guard). This track was the one that did it for me, opened my mind to the idea that electronic music could evoke the same kind of emotion as music produced by conventional / classical means. It leaves you wanting more, which is possibly the greatest quality of all.

This was the first piece of electronic vinyl i ever bought (i seen a clip for the video on a u.k show called "the chart show" when it was released.) Absolutely blew me away. Had never even payed the slightest bit of attention to electronic music til then (i was a death metal fan of all things :P ) THIS changed everything.

Classic Aphex reversal of the main drum loop (blinding braekbeat as usual). This is Aphex Twin for the masses though- far more accessible than a lot of his work.

of all music that richard d james has ever released, "on" must be the single best piece ever. it has the chilled, ambient feeling of a lot of tunes, but also the weird, distorted rhythmic works of other aphex work. still, this track is unique in every way possible.
