"Warning: Some tracks have been re-mastered from original vinyl pressings and may contain some distortion, pops and crackles. We have attempted to clean these up as much as possible."

While this CD presents some of the finest moments in early acid house, I frankly find the sound quality of this CD to be horrible. I also find it shocking that the original masters were unattainable. Most of these tracks were actually digitized using 12" vinyl. What's more shocking is the poor job done by the engineers of this album in efforts to manicure the vinyl recordings. The CD opens up with "Land of Confusion," the worst-sounding of the bunch; in this one, it is blatantly obvious that an abusive amount of de-hissing and de-clicking was rendered, wherefore its result encompasses the sound of an old cassette tape being played back with a "Dolby C" filter engaged. Many would even argue that the inherent pops and crackles would be desired, lending to a level of vintageness. But certainly, a failed makeover sounds worse.
