This CD is absolutely incredible. Armin did well and chose only the highest quality music. The first track, Tranquility, on CD 1 is so beautiful that it almost eclipsed the rest of the CD for me when I first listened to it. That's because I was impatient, trying to find the 'good' part of the songs in 10 seconds or less... stupid, I know.
My other favorite songs on this mix are; Lady Blue, Burned With Desire, The Ambience, Satelite, Sahara and Under the Sun -in no particular order.
If you have discriminating taste and require the best in uplifting trance, get A State Of Trance 2004!

On one hand, these are all very quality melodic trance tunes, and superbly mixed.
On the other hand, this is not the Armin from Boundaries of Imagination or other older stuff. It's not that the album sounds commercial... I feel like Armin never really takes the mix off, which is kind of his style not to bang it out, but sometimes it feels a little draggy.
Don't get me wrong--great trance mix for you to have, especially the opening to CD 2. Great songs, and a great DJ. But the energy feels a little like a lost potential. Just a little.
