...FINALLY I hear there's a new album out from Astral Projection...and imagine my disappointment when I found out it was a remix compilation.
Well, I had no predjudices, and so went out and got this one. Listened it through and yet another disappointment gushed through me. How can it be, that the undisputed kings of space-like Goa are so hard to remix properly? A compilation full of cheesy bits of sampled Goa. No thanks.
But hey, don't just take MY word for it. I'm calling all AP-fans to listen to "Ten" through at least once. Draw your own conclusions, but be warned: no other than the boys of Astral Projection themselves can remix AP tracks.
the only track that stands out on this album is the last one: joof's take on mahadeva.
my dissapointment with it comes mainly from the fact that ap actually approved it. i mean is not even where their followers would expect it, so how can they let "the scene" chop such songs, call them remixes and then let them go to public? it is all breaking down too often, the flow isn't there, and it all seems to be syntesized down in to hell, not up to the heavens.
