Damn, if one record out of bloated classics of hardcore needs a review it's this one. OK, the remix 12" is good, but this was the record that was hammered by many a 'ardcore kid back in the day.
3 tracks off the a-side were on the infamous DJ Hype tape from Fantasy FM, known throughout the North West as 'Hype 2'. The tape, and consequently this record had a huge impact on the club scene up North, i blagged my first copy of this from Marcus Intalex (the real DJ of the Angels in Burnley).
Each track is based around various samples, very early use of the Amen and various other funk breaks, and some killer stabs and chords (think Psychotropic's 'Only For The Headstrong').
The record came out at a time when Hardcore was still being born, and naivety was a plus, and I think of the amount of time's I heard tracks from this 12" proves what an impact it had on the genre.
A Killer record, and a great example of the good records that were hammered back then. Not the crap ones sold for fortunes now!
