The track "My mind goes into programming" has a funny bar structure in that it seems to flip the 1 with the 3 several times along with the changes of the main riff - or one of the riffs was programmed with a terrible lack of feel and groove. Still can't figure this out after 10 years. Well, maybe they were influenced by Vinnie Colaiuta's solo work at the time ;-) This one, "I need to freak" and the title track stand out, the rest (to me) are just fillers and standard Aux 88 "Tour de France" clones.
The CD version has many tracks from other EPs added and sounds crisper, but the vinyl has more presence.
Devastating Detroit electro from Keith Tucker and Tommy Hamilton featuring the powerful wall shaking bass of 'I Need to Freak', Kraftwerkian powerhouse 'Is It Man Or Machine' and the ode to the process of deriving sound from exotic metal boxes with 'My Mind Goes Into Programming'.
