Bought by me in the record shop in 1983, february (i was 15 y.o.). I loved more 'Stop' at that time because in that particular moment it took to my mind some old disco releases and listening to it in that period (in Italy) it was quite unusual. Anyway at the actual time they are both amazing tunes! Yes, timeless!

This might be the best italo-disco record that I own. Compared to other italo records - which mostly have a vocal and instrumental version of one song - this one provides 2 brilliant and totally different songs. I just can't decide which one is the best of the two, "Livin' Up" is the more melancholic song but it nevertheless has quite a funky synthline and superb vocals. "Stop" is the floor burner with it's superb fat bass and simple, yet effective synthline which will make your body move instantly. I think the (short) vocals only appear two times in the beginning of the song, the remaining +/- 3 minutes are pure instrumental funkiness. Hard to find but well worth the effort. Timeless. A true gem. 5/5

It's not an error that this release has so many 5/5 votes. It's also not an error that so many people want this 12". "Livin' Up"/"Stop" by B.W.H. is probably one of the most powerful and influential italo disco releases of all time. It's no wonder that such a great set of songs is so hard-to-find - that's because we're talking about an extremely limited release, and you know how it goes: the best stuff is always the hardest to find! "Livin' Up" is a dark and very deep electro italo track, while "Stop" has that uplifting, happy synth-line added to it, more suitable for the dancefloor. Both songs have great female vocals and an excellent drumbeat. Both songs are synthesizer fantasies and go well for the breakdancer in you or for whatever purpose you can imagine. A++

The remixes are not that bad but I don't need them, they can't compete with the originals (sounds a cliche but it is like it is).

I do especially like 'Stop'. It has a standard italo-accord, the piano sounds a bit false even as the voice. I don't understand half of what they are singing (Italians trying to sing in English?) but it sounds beautiful. That makes it a great record. Today's records are so clean and perfect. It's good to hear something like this sometimes.

I heard this record years ago and heard it again on I-F's 'Mixed Up In The Hague' Vol. 1 en 2. I was so happy to hear that it got a re-release and hey... you can't beat the original versions. 'Stop' has that amazing starting bassline that keeps repeating itself in your head and it's just great to hear those italians trying to sing in english. Yes... let's see if you can find out what the exact lyrics are. 'Livin' Up' is just marvelous! That piano break is insane! A real italo classic that just got reborn. Thanx Casco!

The flipside "Stop" has to be one of the greatest Italo Disco tracks of all times. Awesome piano sequences and reverb effects on the female sung romantic refrain make this one unforgettable.
