Reviews & Discussion

To me this record reminds me of the sound being done by Sean O'Neil aka "Someone Else". Sample heavy micro house. Check the Foundsound label, Rip It Cookie Muenster comes to mind immediately. Obviously there are other influences but the primary seems to be the older micro house scene.

Not sure how I feel about the record. I like it in some places, but in other places it frustrates me. I wouldnt want to be dancing to Tender Place. Its all over the place. So if you can't dance to it what else is there? What am I supposed to do when the random stop in the middle of the track comes? As a dj you might get hit in the head with a flying beer bottle. This track is begging for a re-edit or a remix. To make a successful remake, all you would have to do for Tender is remove the bullshit pitch up at the end, get rid of the random break in the middle. Basically give the track some cohesion.

Definite points to the producer for creativity, but minus points for chaotic sound design.

Weird, quirky 4/4 stuff here, a la Theo Parrish/Moodymann but, erm, not quite. Perhaps nu disco may be the term du jour.

Samples on A1, "A Tender Places", so far spotted:
- Parris Mitchell – "All Night Long".
- Heatwave – "Boogie Nights" (album: "Too Hot To Handle").
- Machine – "There But For The Grace Of God Go I" (album: "Machine").

Samples on B1, "Nose Candy", so far spotted:
- Patrice Rushen – "Settle For My Love" (album: "Pizzazz").

...more?

catchy hook, bizarre production and effects. you gotta mix out of it though, otherwise risk completely annoying the floor.

This shit's brilliant, yo!
Don't try to beatmatch out of it, though. Speeds up at a non-constant rate.
