Island is the track for me [I think - I have a TP with just Cat.no - it's the aphexy one anyway]
Absolutely lush melodies that shapeshift all the way thru...
Pretty sure Rising High released this without their permish..!

This has to be my favorite Black Dog production. Exceptionally beautiful techno and IDM, with almost trance-like melodic tendencies and nice thumping percussion. This is an easy one to leave on repeat. Each track is memorable in its own right, yet the EP should be listened to from beginning to end for best impact. 1993 was unreal for these guys. Temple of Transparent Balls, the tracks that would later make up Parallels, Bytes, and Parasight - quite a year!

Well... this is really not something special like the votes might suggest. I was expecting pretty much more when I heard Parasight on The Secret Life Of Trance comp. This mystical track is still the best point here, but the rest can be easily forgotten. And if Avidya is Intelligent Techno, I don't know...but IMHO, there are no signs of intelligence in this one. It's just some weird EBM with a lot of disharmonical noises. Intelligent Techno is somewhere else, though Rosery Pilots is another listenable one here.

A stealth Black Dog release, and incredibly difficult to find. Parasight is an astounding piece of work, still unparalleled today (except by other Black Dog productions, that is). “Rosery Pilots” and “Avidya” both demonstrate what “intelligent” techno can sound like -- groovy for both the feet and the mind. “Parasight” is a dark, throbbing track that would easily put any current trance track to shame. And “Island” is an ocean cruise that takes place entirely in your head. If you can find this EP, sell your soul to the devil to acquire it -- God will understand.
