Xavier Jamaux’s first album as Bang Bang delivers on the band’s name: it’s two powerful bullets of beauty –- one into the heart and the other into the forehead. From the first track, the lingering and melancholy “Two Fingers” to the delicate grooves of “Sacre Couer” (the final track, a reprise of “Two Fingers”), Je T’Aime, Je T’Aime oozes warmth and class. The bpms never go above 100, but don’t take that to mean that the songs are boring. Far from it, each track revels in its own pleasures. “Murmur” is a whispered love song, one that should be playing in bedrooms across the globe. Relaxation has never been so sublime.
