They released this 12" under the name Banana Krew, one of their many aliases. It's a great EP. The one sheet that came with my copy reads: BANANA KREW "The Camberwell EP" "Roughneck South London house joints from the Basement Jaxx crew. Totally off kilter party tunes that pound heads into the dirt with crushing bass kicks and weird disjointed sounds." That pretty much sums it up. If you like the Junction EP then you'll like this too.

As far as I know this is one of very few tunes ever to have a breakdown made from the music that plays from an ice-cream van! And Basement Jaxx are one of the few acts who could pull it off with their credibility still intact...
Like spotty teenagers, the Jaxx can be quite rebelious at times. This EP, released about the same time as 'Romeo', is pure punk garage with 'I live in camberwell' bouncing along to crazy vocals and ruff beats. Light ya lighta is a funky electro/ragga mash-up while Camberskank keeps the mad ragga shouts but over a funk-infused b-line. And then there's the added bonus of a short and funny 'Queen's Speech' as well....nice!
