Maybe this record is one of the greatest and genre defining tunes in Goth, but it definitely wouldn't be possible without the experience in dub immanent to post-punk UK (e.g. PIL, the Slits, Mark & the Mafia and all) and tape-echo machines.

Seminal small label pre-Goth punk monster 12. The long intro, the dub leanings and build up to the 'He's dead, he's dead, he's dead' chant. Whilst Mr. Legosi died in 1956, perhaps he was never so much an icon as when Murphy stretched out ever syllable of his name in this tribute. Inevitably, they never reached such heights again. Thank you Small Wonder.
