Re. Albini's "blood spattered" T-shirt - it would be a good story but unfortunately it's not the case.

Although you don't see it in the video anywhere, Big Black had brought a load of watermelons to the gig that night, which they left at the front of the stage and threw about a bit. These watermelons were then further destroyed by the crowd as the gig went on. The red staining on Albini's T-shirt is, thus, not blood but watermelon juice.

Their last ever gig was actually in America in the disused Georgetown Steam Plant in Seattle on 11 August 1987, which was also videoed but has never had an official release.

This is video evidence of Big Blacks last UK gig - possibly their last as Big Black? And whilst no mention is made on the tracklisting - Two members of Wire (Lewis and Gilbert) join Big Black on stage to assist with the summary destruction of the classic Heartbeat. This VHS is a must for die-hard Wire fans! Aside from Wire's appearance of note is Steve Albini's blood splattered Die Krupps T-Shirt which gets darker and bloodier as he frays the ends of his fingers on his guitar strings...ouch!
