Big Bud isn’t an artist that necessarily needs remixes, but when he has them, as on the _Fear of Flying: The Remix Project_, it’s like extra frosting. Greg Packer and Atlantic Connection integrate the ragga vocals of "How I Make My G’s" and "Just Can’t Hold Me Down" respectively to find a nice balance between atmosphere and velocity, while Amaning go for uplifting with their mix of "Miracle." Cujo (Amon Tobin) has a surprisingly smooth mix of "Fuzzy" -- far removed from the more abstract work under his own name -- and Henree’s mix of "Mihi" shows some Peshay influence. But the melancholy of Electrosoul System’s mix of “Red Snapper” stands all on its own. Suv rounds out the album with his Latin jazz rendition of “Dirty Mr. Kurti,” and the horns make for a nice upbeat time. No reason not to leave the ground with this album.
