Biosphere's greatest, as far as I'm concerned. Absolutely beautiful, sublime electronic music. Warm, luscious textures mixed with old-school beats. Favorite tracks include "Tranquilizer," "The Fairy Tale," and "Baby Interphase." If I could give this a 6, I would.

I rarely give negative reviews (since who cares, everyone's got a stinky "opinion") but since this has gotten such huge accolades, I figure I'd thrown in a dissenting opinion: this CD is a bit cheezy - typical hokey "spaced out ambient" sort of vocal samples on every track, very typical synth-washes and filter sweeps mixed in with some piano that, to be honest, I find to be quite cloying.

I didn't like this disc back when it came out and it certainly hasn't aged well. Perhaps this is one for "those who were there" but would anyone really be impressed by this today? It's almost like a parody of ambient music or something - but you know, there's always gotta be one person who doesn't like it - caveat emptor.

Biosphere does energy! While it may sound a little crude technically to some, it's still a very enjoyable listen. Jenssen mixes some of that high energy they only really knew how to do in the early 90's with the nascent beginnings of his later sound, for an altogether intelligent and danceable record.

''Can we make it back to earth?' ''It's a decision of course'.. ''it's yours'...
High tech dance music by Geir Jenssen. One of the early ambient techno albums from the 90's Beautiful dark music with a lot of space samples.
A year before Microgravity (AMBcd 3921), he released Northpole by Submarine as Bleep (SSR). Do you hear the difference? :)
Follow up release on Apollo is Selected Ambient Works 85-92 by Aphex Twin (AMBcd 3922) Be aware of the classics! Essential for collectors of classic material.
