Apparently Mike Caddoo of Gridlock wanted to make more downtempo music and put a stop to the faster drum & bass work he did with Dryft. So he changed monikers and changed genres for the most part.
Enarc is the debut from Bitcrush and its quite a debut indeed. If you were a fan of Gridlock's Trace and Formless albums.. Then you'll want to pick this one up because the influence in this album is uncanny. The major differences is that Bitcrush fuses some culture in the songs and doesn't always make straight-up ambient/IDM.
This can mostly be noticed on Untilted & Eye Koto (guitar and oriental influences). Try not to get lost in the ambient masterpiece called Carbon Rewind on here.
