i have all five 12"es in this series. the only credits for this particular record state "written by bjork, produced by bjork and mark bell and track 3 produced by howie b." mark bell's name is in parenthesis after each song title, leading me to think he is the remixer for all tracks.

IMHO, the previous reviewer is totally wrong :) The Mark Bell remixes are nice but he did not put much effort to them, really, half of them sound just like clones of one lazy, although pretty enjoyable remix. Benjamin Diamond remixes are just House as rakimou rightfully pointed ;). But this 12" contains three of the best experimental and incredibly funny remixes of Alarm Call. Yep, you have read it right, they are really funny and surprisingly experimental. Bjeck melody jumps and Matmos vocal therapy are amazingly shocking and enjoyable.

Potage du jour is the typical LFO sound. The essentially "stardust" remix edges out the Mark Bell sound by a gradation. The full dub is better than the edit. A typical dusty vinyl disco loop is sync'ed with Bjork's already robust tune.

OK guys, we found it! That's the best release of Bjork - Alarm Call. These mixes are the best ones, of course they're from Mark Bell!

The best one is the Potage du Jour, it's the more achieved of this record, it has a funky bass, and a driving vocal sample (hellooo..hap).
The 2 other version being the same kind but with less instruments or so. They're made to be mixed with other tunes. The locked version has a high pitched voice to be play slower, while the Phunk You is low and demands to be played faster.
M. Bell is the best in making great music, and great records to mix!

The Beck remix is just an ugly track, I don't understand the point of it, it has no interest. The music doesn't even goes well with the vocals, as if wasn't tuned! The very end of the song (30 seconds) is good, at least funny, with a Hawaiian or tropical feel music.

The Matmos mixes are difficult to listen to, not very enjoyable but have good parts. Especially when vocals are cut sharply to make new melodies or new words. It's funny and prove some good technique from those guys, but sometimes it also some very good music.

Overall, it's certainly not the best remixes of the great track that is Alarm Call. Listen to the Mark Bell Potage du jour, locked... or to the House mixes by Benjamin Diamond, they're much better, the radio mix is the best.
