Bob Sinclar ‎– The Ghetto (Uptown)

Pooley's rerub is of his then usual uplifting productions, you have pianos, a moog-y synth and the vocal sample cut up and thrown into the mix. Ian kept much of the original vibe but switched it up to make it a bit more banging. Flip the kit over and you have the reason this record got most attention.

Martin Iveson's Atjazz remix is one of those records that leave you in awe and want to hear it again. Instead of the driving pounding nature of the original Martin took the tempo down, added a much slicker bass and removed the solid groove for his a more groovy breakbeat. This disc has something for everyone but the Atjazz remix is what most people remember.

I'm not shure if most people who like Ian Pooley also now about his Paradisiaque Mix of Bob Sinclar's 'The Ghetto'. The original cut is already pretty much okay, but here Mr. Pooley takes the plot on a higher level. Besides the uplifting bassline, the main ingredients of this bomb are a piano gone mad and a mesmerizing melody consisting of a soundsnippet which only appeared at one single point in the original take. I guess he had a really good listen to the original (probably while enjoying a spliff or whatever) and decided to funk up the whole thing. Melody driven funky chunky Pooley style like his NRK stuff, but this time even better. Too bad he doesn't produce tracks like this anymore.
