Linger Lane was a session recorded outdoors in Idylwild in what looks to be the most serene Californian countryside. The chilled vibe seems to have reflected in the music too, as this album is wonderfully laid back, but still with plenty of groove and drive to stop it being too laid back. BH has dropped the vibraphone for this session and opted for the Marimba, which suits the outdoorsy feel he was probably trying to create really well. The high points for me are a nice long soulful version of "People Make the World Go Round", and the knock you off your feet hypnotic groover "NTU", but they're all great, definitely a choice pick from Hutcherson's '70s catalog.
