Reviews & Discussion

Yeah Yeah (D. Ramirez Mix):

This mix seems to borrow heavily from the idea behind Petter's track Some Polyphony, as the sound that is used for the melody in this mix is pretty much the same, only difference is it's a bit richer sounding in this version.

Even the way the melody & track in general is structured is pretty similar through out..

Pretty much the only original sounding part of this is the vocal & it's horrid

D. Ramirez' version of "Yeah Yeah" couldn't have been played more often, which is rather surprising for me: The track deserves an award for being one of the most annoying songs in 2006! The slightly distorted melody-loop manages it easily to become a pain in the ass, if you have to listen to it for too long at once - as the whole track repeats itself the whole time, this might happen quite soon. Unfortunately, there isn't anything else to pay attention to, as the whole track is rather dull - a perfect example for the lack of ideas in the oh-so-great-Electrohouse scene.

Meanwhile, Kris Menace's version can entertain more, with its simple but nice breakbeat, chirping and slight acid-related effects, and also seems to contain some 80ies-influences, which make the track quite interesting.

The Electro Club Vocal is probably the most underrated track on this record, which shouldn't be the case: With its Hiphouse-vocals and a similar breakbeat as used in Kris Menace's remix, the song gets almost an oldscool-touch and is a lot of fun.

Lush! A blissful remix of a modern dancefloor anthem. Chunky, sped up electro house-influenced bosher. Katana doesn't mess with the formula, going with the 'if it ain't broke, then don't fix it' theory, and he does a good job. To be honest, not much is changed, but at least you can play it in a harder, faster set. As for the flip? Well, the original is there in all its glory. Go find this!

I'm not the biggest fan of electro house, but that D. Ramirez remix literally drives me crazy. First good thing about this mix that Ramirez removed stupid vocals which in original they are just terrible. And so on, extra low basslines and electrified strings blows me out in whatever mood, bad of good I am. This is HARDCORE !
