I first discovered the Boomtang Boys around 1993, when they were producing awesome House remixes (Riders Of The Soundguard, Primitive Fire, Charlene Smith, The Philosopher Kings). In 1999, they released this album, clearly a step in the wrong direction. Most of the stuff here is Bubble Gum Eurodance: the terrible, naive and babyish "Squeeze Toy" was released as the first single (with the French version "Mon Joujou"). "Time After Time" is a uninspired, flat rendition of the classic Cyndi Lauper hit. "Looking For Love" is an obvious attempt to re-create Stardust's "Music Sounds Better With You". The only track that grabbed my attention was "Pop Corn", another cover of a classic electronic track, in which it seems they injected their own original House vibe. Unfortunately, the extended version is only available on the 12". This album was kind of buried since then, as they came back to their roots under the name "Boomtang".
