Brothers Grimm, The - Field Of Dreams / Exodus (The Lion Awakes)

In my opinion this is a first class example of production house 1992 style hardcore. Side A with Madonna samples is rather obvious and not exceptional, however Side B is the one to check.

'Field of dreams' starts off with tubular bells samples which work well with a simple kick and then Brothers Grimm work up layers of breakbeats, a deep bass line and stabs returning to a reverse bass breakdown. following some breakbeat trickery and classic rave stabs the main break consists of a vocal loop "when the lion awakes, they'll be more trouble and more" followed by breakbeats and a bass stab that is infectious and produces dance floor mayhem.

For me this an example of truly innovative rave/hardcore and a must for the collection.
