Uplifting as can be, with bang to earth dubs thrown in.
Not as deep as volume three, but more UK housey sounding with lots more vibrant catchy vocal tunes. To uplifting for me, I prefered the dubs in this mix. But because I bought Sessions 1 - 9 i thought I would review this.
Nicely mixed. Weaves in and out of big room vocal tunes and short sharp dubs making that perfect saturday night at the club mix.

On the whole this is a good mix. Starts off unfortunately with the absolutely atrocious Ole, Ole, Ole. What is it with DJ's in the mid 90s playing awful novelty records?!

Thankfully it gets much better! Verges into familiar US Garage territory albeit with a commercial edge (Judy Cheeks, Kathy Sledge, Barbara Tucker etc). That's not to say that the mix doesn't go deep in places either though (Pimp Daddies).

On the whole excellent but again ruined by the incredibly saccharine Message of Love produced by CJ himself. This tune has perhaps the most banal lyrics I've ever heard in House. Awful.

If the mix didn't have these tracks on it, I'd have given it a 5.

This was the embodiment of what House music was in the mid 90's. A smoothly mixed journey of songs getting all the good ones in from Kathy Sledge through to my favourite 'Apparantly Nothin' by Carleen Anderson. The only other people to come close in this league were Masters At Work with their Sessions 5 mix.
