Nyala was commissioned by The Arts Promotion Service of the Aichi Arts Centre in Japan & originally composed as music for an untitled three-way collaboration between composer Carl Stone, dancer / choreographer Kuniko Kisanuki & sculptor Satoru Shoji. The work was premiered in september 1995 at The Achi-ken arts Centre as a solo dance by Miss Kisanuki & lasted forty minutes. For this CD release Carl Stone has extended the original work's last section & added one more, dancers' stamina no longer being an issue.
