| This Is Jizzcore (2xCD, Album) | Crunch Pod | CRUNCH061 | US | 2009 |
Personally, I dismissed this one upon reading the tracklist as something I most assuredly would find offense with and dislike, however from the first listen I realized that not only have I enjoyed dancing to a few of these tasteless gems without knowing it in the past, but they are quite a bit more serious than I had given them credit for. Behind the unpleasant strip club and sleaze hall facade lay two discs worth of clever lyric subtlety and I-don’t-give-a-fuck dancefloor madness. Genre jumping from hard house, EBM and digital hardcore, to accapella streetpunk, breakcore and IDM with snitches of darkwave, hiphop and drum’n'bass to boot, Matt Fanale juggles disparate musical elements with poise, sliding from one musical persona to another without ever dropping the ball."
