Ce Ce Peniston penned the lyrics to Finally during a school lesson and the rest is history. Based on Ce Ce Rogers Garage classic "Someday", this song took the charts by storm in 1991. David Morales honed his production skills and proved why he deserved his status as remixer/producer of 1991 alongside Steve Hurley. Where Hurley got stuck with his distinctive 2-3 elements, Morales managed to base his take on remixing on lasting vocal efforts and independant dub versions that stood out as more than 3 deck mixing fodder. The track itself is a brilliant example of a cute song containing hope, wanting and youthful love. This is from an era where House Music lyrics had a deeper textual meaning thus the reason of it standing the test of time.

This was pretty much all over the place back in the day. A classic piano house cut which i still hear on the radio today every now and then.
We just don't hear these uplifting vocals and choruses in house records like they were when house took of in New York.
"Finally it's happening to me..." And the crowds just sang along to it and people knew the lyrics while Eric Kupper's staggering piano brought the whole thing along. Today the lyrics feels like second hand on most records, a thing of the past so to speak. This track will never die kinda, and the chorus is just to damn memorable. Heard it once and it sticks on you forever.
Still heard and still played at clubs. Don't forget who did it for you when you were young and aspiring.

Let's face facts; to try and improve on an already classic recording is a tough task to accomplish. Eric Kupper, who did the keyboard work for David Morales' monumental mixes of this track, does a fantastic job on this remix package. His Classic mixes are more geared for the mainstream; more than likely, DJs opted for the Nasty Funk mixes with that killer bassline. Kupper's work far outshines the Sharp Boys' pair of cuts that do this song little justice - very derivative work, in my opinion.
