Don't listen to Demoted. The real track you want on this album is "Eulogy". Its more raw and rooted in techno than any of the other Chymera records I've heard. As soon as I heard it I had a picture in my mind of Sven Vath playing a massive outdoor festival somewhere in Europe at 3am. The real beauty of this track is right before the end. There's a short break with a minor key "Rej" type melody and dark synthy undertones swirling around. They finally peak when the kick drum comes back in. Its at this moment that I close my eyes, lift my head up high, and do that Stevie Wonder figure 8 motion with my chin. Hahaha yes you dj's know what I'm talking about. Pure genius in this record.
Ellipsis is an incredible, BUILDING trance track, or "neo-trance" as some people may dub it. The fact is, it chugs along, continually picks up steam, has a beautiful, simple, and catchy melody, and sans the annoying breakdowns that plague so many current trance tracks. Chymera is known for carving out his own melodic sound which doesn't pander to any one particular genre but is malleable enough to ebb with a sundry of them. This is no exception, and is one of my favourites by him at the moment. Not to be missed.
