Get the FUNK out! This one was "hardcore" before gabber became hardcore. Pretty hardcore. As one reviewer states, I don't know how Hawtin kept it so funktified despite being so damn hardcore. Richie Hawtin's ability to program drums is his strongest suit. He managed to keep them very arranged and never seemed to just use the overused Boom-tss-Boom-tss-Boom-tss-Boom-tss patterns of much of his competition. This is one of my faves and with luck will be the proud owner of it soon. Can't say too much more than that this is class stuff. They don't write 'em like that anymore! Check it!
Techno for all the storm-troopers outthere !!! made when Techno was developing into a hard, Industrial period. I never heard this track in a club but I'm sure the speakers would have taken a battering - If you ever want to test a new set od speakers then I suggest you use this track !! The frequency and distortion are way off scale and how Hawtin manages to keep it all funky is a credit to him...
don`t know until today how to discribe theses beats: overmodulated bass drum, I admit, not the first tracs they occur (if I remeber correctely they are already to find on probe 007), but not of such intenseness as on this Richie Hawtin aka Circuit Breaker work which is model for many
gabber productions, but only concerning it`s beats, cause the tracs x,y and z are made of nothings else than beats + a deep buzzing, very hard to find contemporary productions like this one!
