Reviews & Discussion

To be honest, I don't like this CD as much as I liked the first Colours. However, I have to say that this is well-crafted. I like the nice touch they put in with the first and last track, which run along a more ambient line. Once again, Circulation did an awesome job of getting that awesome deep/tech house sound to integrate so well. As I said before, the first and last tracks are pretty good, but also listen to "Khaki," a really energetic tech-house track, "Emerald" and "Aqua." And don't discount the funky disco sounds of "Cherry." A good CD, although not the best. However, if you liked Circulation's first Colours, you'll like this one.

More sweet and soulful tech-house by the Circulation boys on their second album, titled (appropriately enough), COLOURS 2. Picking up where the previous COLOURS left off, “Terracotta” is a beatless journey, but “Chocolate” quickly picks up the flavor and the rhythm. “Khaki” is bright and sunny, like an afternoon on a beach, while “Vanilla,” despite its title, has a dirty funk going on. The tracks segue into one another for a continuous journey, oftentimes highlighting contrasts: “Emerald” is darker with a sensuous vocal sample, but “White” is pure disco pleasure, strings and all. “Sepia” closes out the album on an ambient note, which, in a way, brings us right back to the beginning. A strong album, much more refined than COLOURS.
