Claro Intelecto brings a group of musical influences far away from the obvious, fruit of his eclectic mind. "Peace Of Mind" begins with calm pianos and a mood of tranquility and introspectiveness. The sudden electrifying basslines make this tune a perfect one to dance, reflecting fhe feelings of the vanguardist producer with the ones of the serious public. "Tone" has a more obscure atmosphere - the way Mark Stewart combinates the punchy beats with an effusive acid bassline, which make this underground electro track a very unique one - the listener will certainly feel like being in the depths of a dark cave, in the middle of a weird party!
On the other side, the EP counts also on a dark and atmospheric techno tune – “Contact” - whose environment is composed of sinister basslines, floating musical timbres and tiny peripheric elements.
Pretty much more than we could expect from the average productions of the more recent electronica.
How this release was voted #1 in many, many 2003 charts will remain a mystery to me. Don't get me wrong, the tracks are nice, but just like the rest of the Ai catalogue, nothing really stands out or tries to be innovative and break new grounds music-wise. Worth a listen, but not a Number One spot.
