So this was one of my first 'electronic' forays into the genre. (I had been a alt rock head before) I had heard Oakenfold's Essential Mixes, and my brother was raving about this group called Concord Dawn. So I got this CD from him and put it on. From the first minute of the CD starting, I knew I was in for something special. That ominous beginning tone of Styx w/Geist says it all. Then the synth comes on. There's a really nice MLK sample, and then the beat kicks in. It's just a ride from here on out. At around 1:30, the monster bass comes in. This is unlike any kind of bass you've heard before.
I fully expected the rest of the CD to be this banging; the very next track, 6.13, is quite different. It's very minimalist for about two minutes of the song. Then it just catches you off guard with this wicked synth and bassline. If you can locate this CD, I would make every attempt to buy it. Persuade some of your Aussie friends to snoop around for this CD.
Highlights: Styx, 6.13, Killsaw, The Fallen, Vengeance
