This is a lot chunkier than your average 12", I think this is one of them 180 gram monsters.
"The Fallen" is a rather tasty piece of prog house, but for me it pales in comparison to the extroadinary b-side "State Of Mind". It starts off like a run-of-the progger, but then that funky drum rhythm comes in, and that gorgeous synth line. There's some squelchy effects too, but nothing that explains why it's so damn hypnotic. A voice asks questions such as "is this deep enough for you?" and "what the fuck does deep actually mean?". I don't know, but i'd say they don't come much deeper than this. I can't quite put my finger on why I love this so much, but every time I hear it, it has a strange effect on me. This is what really got me into Fire Recordings in the first place too, so it is extra special too me.
